Article L622-1 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

Subject to the provisions of article L. 622-2, the administrative authority may, by reasoned decision, attach to the surrender decision taken pursuant to article L. 621-1 against a foreign national holding a residence permit in the State to whose authorities he is to be surrendered, a travel ban on French territory of up to three years.

Article L622-1

Sous réserve des dispositions de l’article L. 622-2, l’autorité administrative peut, par décision motivée, assortir la décision de remise prise en application de l’article L. 621-1 à l’encontre d’un étranger titulaire d’un titre de séjour dans l’Etat aux autorités duquel il doit être remis, d’une interdiction de circulation sur le territoire français d’une durée maximale de trois ans.
