Article L6422-1 of the French Labour Code

When an employee has all or part of his acquired experience validated during working time and at his own initiative, he is entitled to leave for this purpose.

The employee applies to the employer for authorisation to take the leave provided for in article L. 6323-17. The employer may refuse this authorisation for service reasons, giving reasons for postponing it within a period and according to procedures defined by decree.

Lorsqu’un salarié fait valider les acquis de son expérience en tout ou partie pendant le temps de travail et à son initiative, il bénéficie d’un congé à cet effet.

Le salarié demande à l’employeur une autorisation d’absence prévue à l’article L. 6323-17. L’employeur peut refuser cette autorisation pour des raisons de service, motivant son report sous un délai et selon des modalités définis par décret.
