Article L7121-2 of the French Labour Code

The following in particular are considered to be performing artists:

1° Lyric artists ;

2° dramatic artists

3° choreographic artists ;

4° Variety artists

5° Musician ;

6° chansonnier ;

7° Complementary artist

8° Conductor

9° Arranger-orchestrator;

10° stage director, film director and choreographer, for the material execution of their artistic concept;

11° A circus artist;

12° Puppeteers;

13° Persons whose activity is recognised as a performer’s profession by the extended collective agreements for the performing arts.

Sont considérés comme artistes du spectacle, notamment :

1° L’artiste lyrique ;

2° L’artiste dramatique ;

3° L’artiste chorégraphique ;

4° L’artiste de variétés ;

5° Le musicien ;

6° Le chansonnier ;

7° L’artiste de complément ;

8° Le chef d’orchestre ;

9° L’arrangeur-orchestrateur ;

10° Le metteur en scène, le réalisateur et le chorégraphe, pour l’exécution matérielle de leur conception artistique ;

11° L’artiste de cirque ;

12° Le marionnettiste ;

13° Les personnes dont l’activité est reconnue comme un métier d’artiste-interprète par les conventions collectives du spectacle vivant étendues.
