Article L7124-9 of the French Labour Code

A portion of the remuneration received by the child may be left at the disposal of his or her legal representatives.

The remainder, known as the “pécule”, is paid to the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations and managed by the Caisse until the child reaches the age of majority or becomes legally independent. Withdrawals may be authorised in emergencies and on an exceptional basis.
