Article L742-10 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

When detention is terminated for a reason other than the annulment, repeal or withdrawal of the removal, administrative ban on entry or transfer decision, a reminder of the obligation to comply with this decision is sent to the foreign national by the liberty and custody judge or by the administrative authority.
The foreign national may then be placed under house arrest pursuant to article L. 731-1.
Failure to comply with the provisions of the first paragraph has no effect on the legality and validity of subsequent removal and detention procedures.

Article L742-10

Lorsqu’il est mis fin à la rétention pour une raison autre que l’annulation, l’abrogation ou le retrait de la décision d’éloignement, d’interdiction administrative du territoire ou de transfert, un rappel de l’obligation de déférer à cette décision est adressé à l’étranger par le juge des libertés et de la détention ou par l’autorité administrative.
L’étranger peut alors être assigné à résidence en application de l’article L. 731-1.
La méconnaissance des dispositions du premier alinéa est sans conséquence sur la régularité et le bien-fondé de procédures ultérieures d’éloignement et de rétention.
