Article L742-25 of the French Consumer Code

The judgment adopting the plan makes it enforceable against all parties. The duration of the plan is set by the judge and may not exceed seven years. It may not exceed seven years.
If the plan is not implemented, the judge will order its termination.
The plan may, however, exceed this duration when the measures it includes concern the repayment of loans taken out to purchase a property that constitutes the debtor’s principal residence, the sale of which they make it possible to avoid, or when they enable the debtor to repay all his debts while avoiding the sale of the property that constitutes his principal residence.

Le jugement qui arrête le plan le rend opposable à tous. La durée du plan est fixée par le juge. Elle ne peut excéder sept ans.
En cas d’inexécution du plan, le juge en prononce la résolution.
Le plan peut cependant excéder cette durée lorsque les mesures qu’il comporte concernent le remboursement de prêts contractés pour l’achat d’un bien immobilier constituant la résidence principale du débiteur dont elles permettent d’éviter la cession ou lorsqu’elles permettent au débiteur de rembourser la totalité de ses dettes tout en évitant la cession du bien immobilier constituant sa résidence principale.
