Article L744-2 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

A register shall be kept in all places of detention, indicating the civil status of the persons detained, as well as the conditions of their placement or retention in detention. The register shall also mention the civil status of minor children accompanying these persons and the conditions of their reception.
The administrative authority shall make available to persons who request it information concerning the date and time of the start of each foreigner’s placement in detention, the exact place of detention and the date and time of extension decisions.

Article L744-2

Il est tenu, dans tous les lieux de rétention, un registre mentionnant l’état civil des personnes retenues, ainsi que les conditions de leur placement ou de leur maintien en rétention. Le registre mentionne également l’état civil des enfants mineurs accompagnant ces personnes ainsi que les conditions de leur accueil.
L’autorité administrative tient à la disposition des personnes qui en font la demande les éléments d’information concernant les date et heure du début du placement de chaque étranger en rétention, le lieu exact de celle-ci ainsi que les date et heure des décisions de prolongation.
