Article L8253-3 of the French Labour Code

Preferential debts pursuant to article L. 8253-2 owed by a trader, a craftsman or a legal entity governed by private law, even if it is not a trader, are entered in a public register within six months of their due date for payment.

The registration preserves the lien for two years and six months from the date on which it is made. It may not be renewed.

Les créances privilégiées en application de l’article L. 8253-2 dues par un commerçant, un artisan ou une personne morale de droit privé même non commerçante, sont inscrites à un registre public, dans le délai de six mois suivant leur date limite de paiement.

L’inscription conserve le privilège pendant deux années et six mois à compter du jour où elle est effectuée. Elle ne peut être renouvelée.
