The campaign for the local referendum shall open at midnight on the second Monday preceding the poll. It shall close at midnight on the eve of the poll.
It is organised by the territorial authority that has decided to use the local referendum under the conditions defined in Chapter V of Title I of Book I of the Electoral Code, with the exception of Article L. 52-3. For the application of these provisions, the text should read: “group, party or grouping entitled to take part in the campaign” instead of : “candidate” and : “list of candidates”.
The prohibitions set out in Article L. 50-1, the third paragraph of Article L. 51 and article L. 52-1 of the Electoral Code are applicable to all propaganda relating to the referendum as soon as the deliberative assembly of the territorial authority adopts the resolution referred to in article LO 1112-3.
The provisions of the loi n° 77-808 du 19 juillet 1977 relative à la publication et à la diffusion de certains sondages d’opinion are applicable to local referendums.
