The committees for the protection of individuals comprise thirty-six members divided into two colleges, each with 18 members:
1° The first college is made up of at least:
a) Eight people with qualifications and in-depth experience in research involving the human person, including at least four doctors and two people qualified by virtue of their expertise in biostatistics or epidemiology;
b) Two doctors specialising in general medicine;
c) Two hospital pharmacists;
d) Two medical auxiliaries.
2° The second college is made up of at least:
a) Two people qualified by their expertise in ethical issues;
b) Four people qualified by their expertise in the human and social sciences or their experience in the field of social action;
c) Four people qualified by their expertise in legal matters;
d) Six representatives of associations approved in accordance with the provisions of article L. 1114-1.
Each committee shall include among its members a person qualified in data protection in accordance with Article L. 1123-7.
