Article R*122-1 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

The departmental prefect and, in Paris, the police prefect, have jurisdiction over the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum under the conditions defined in articles 11-1 and 71 of decree no. 2004-374 of 29 April 2004 on the powers of prefects and the organisation and action of State services in the regions and departments.

Article R*122-1

Le préfet de département et, à Paris, le préfet de police, sont compétents en matière d’entrée et de séjour des étrangers ainsi qu’en matière de droit d’asile dans les conditions définies aux articles 11-1 et 71 du décret n° 2004-374 du 29 avril 2004 relatif aux pouvoirs des préfets, à l’organisation et à l’action des services de l’Etat dans les régions et départements.
