Article R122-1 of the French Monetary and Financial Code

Subject to the provisions of Decree No. 2001-933 of 12 October 2001 on the perforated marking of Banque de France banknotes denominated in French francs, denominations of the banknotes listed in the annex to Article 1 of Decree No. 2002-192 of 14 February 2002 abolishing the legal tender status of banknotes will be accepted free of charge at the counters of the Banque de France, the Institut d’émission des départements d’outre-mer and the French Treasury until 17 February 2012 inclusive.

Sous réserve des dispositions du décret n° 2001-933 du 12 octobre 2001 relatif au marquage par perforation de billets de la Banque de France libellés en francs, les coupures des billets mentionnés en annexe à l’article 1er du décret n° 2002-192 du 14 février 2002 portant suppression du cours légal des billets seront reprises sans frais aux guichets de la Banque de France, de l’Institut d’émission des départements d’outre-mer et du Trésor public jusqu’au 17 février 2012 inclus.
