When the death is declared, the copy of the declaration referred to in III of article R. 1261-1 kept by the donor and, where applicable, his donor card, shall be given to the civil registrar.
The funeral director, chosen by the establishment authorised in accordance with the second paragraph of article L. 1261-1, shall assist the family, close relatives and, where applicable, the reference person referred to in article R. 1261-1, until the body is removed. 1261-1, assists the family, the next of kin and, where applicable, the reference person mentioned in article R. 1261-1, until the body is removed.
They are given a copy of the information document provided for in II of article R. 1261-1.
After death, the transport is declared in advance, by any written means, to the mayor of the municipality of the place of death or of deposit. The declaration is subject to possession of an extract from the death certificate provided for in article L. 2223-42 of the General Local Authorities Code certifying that the death does not pose any medico-legal problems and that the donor was not suffering from one of the transmissible infections on one of the lists mentioned in article R. 2213-2-1 of the same code.
