Article R131-1 of the French Code of civil enforcement procedures

The astreinte takes effect on the date set by the judge, which cannot be earlier than the date on which the decision imposing the obligation becomes enforceable.
However, it may take effect from the day it is imposed if it is attached to a decision that is already enforceable.

L’astreinte prend effet à la date fixée par le juge, laquelle ne peut pas être antérieure au jour où la décision portant obligation est devenue exécutoire.
Toutefois, elle peut prendre effet dès le jour de son prononcé si elle assortit une décision qui est déjà exécutoire.
