Article R131-18 of the French Monetary and Financial Code

The injunctions provided for in this paragraph are sent by the drawee to the account holder even if the account on which the cheque or cheques were drawn has been closed. This obligation ceases at the end of a period of one year from the date on which the account is closed.

Les injonctions prévues par le présent paragraphe sont adressées par le tiré au titulaire de compte alors même que le compte sur lequel le chèque ou les chèques ont été tirés a été clôturé. Cette obligation cesse à l’issue d’un délai d’un an à compter de la date de clôture de compte.
