Article R131-4 of the French Monetary and Financial Code

The presentation and protest of a cheque may only be made on a business day.

Where the last day of the period set for the performance of the acts relating to the cheque, and in particular for the presentation or for the drawing up of the protest, is a public holiday, this period is extended until the first working day following its expiry. Intermediate public holidays are included in the calculation of the period.

Statutory holidays include days on which, under the provisions in force, no payment may be demanded and no protest drawn up.

Article R131-4

La présentation et le protêt d’un chèque ne peuvent être faits qu’un jour ouvrable.

Lorsque le dernier jour du délai fixé pour l’accomplissement des actes relatifs au chèque, et notamment pour la présentation ou pour l’établissement du protêt, est un jour férié légal, ce délai est prorogé jusqu’au premier jour ouvrable qui en suit l’expiration. Les jours fériés intermédiaires sont compris dans la computation du délai.

Aux jours fériés légaux sont assimilés les jours où, aux termes des dispositions en vigueur, aucun paiement ne peut être exigé ni aucun protêt dressé.
