Article R1313-17 of the French Public Health Code

The Chief Executive is appointed for a renewable term of three years.

He manages the institution. He shall perform all acts that are not reserved to the Board of Directors by virtue of the provisions of article R. 1313-14.

He prepares the decisions of the Board of Directors and ensures that they are implemented.
