Article R133-1 of the French Intellectual Property Code

Libraries open to the public for lending mentioned in articles L. 133-3 and L. 133-4 are :

1° Local authority libraries designated in articles L. 310-1 to L. 310-6 and L. 320-1 to L. 320-4 of the Heritage Code;

2° The libraries of public scientific, cultural and professional establishments and other public higher education establishments under the authority of the minister responsible for higher education;

3° The libraries of works councils ;

4° Any other library or organisation making a documentary collection available to the public, more than half of whose copies of books acquired during the year are intended for an organised lending activity for the benefit of registered individual or group users.

Article R133-1

Les bibliothèques accueillant du public pour le prêt mentionnées aux articles L. 133-3 et L. 133-4 sont :

1° Les bibliothèques des collectivités territoriales désignées aux articles L. 310-1 à L. 310-6 et L. 320-1 à L. 320-4 du code du patrimoine ;

2° Les bibliothèques des établissements publics à caractère scientifique, culturel et professionnel et des autres établissements publics d’enseignement supérieur relevant du ministre chargé de l’enseignement supérieur ;

3° Les bibliothèques des comités d’entreprise ;

4° Toute autre bibliothèque ou organisme mettant un fonds documentaire à la disposition d’un public, dont plus de la moitié des exemplaires de livres acquis dans l’année est destinée à une activité organisée de prêt au bénéfice d’usagers inscrits individuels ou collectifs.
