Article R1331-76 of the French Public Health Code

After any accident or disaster, in particular a chimney fire, or after any work has been carried out, the use of the flues and appliances connected to them is prohibited until they have been repaired or replaced. The customer mentioned in article R. 1331-21 shall have them examined by an installer, or any other person qualified in accordance with article R. 1331-22, who shall draw up a certificate. If they are not replaced, the certificate is drawn up in accordance with article R. 1331-23.

Après tout accident, sinistre, notamment feu de cheminée, ou exécution de travaux, l’usage des conduits et appareils qui y sont raccordés est interdit dans l’attente de leur remise en état ou de leur remplacement. Le commanditaire mentionné à l’article R. 1331-21 les fait examiner par un installateur, ou toute autre personne qualifiée conformément à l’article R. 1331-22, qui établit une attestation. En l’absence de remplacement, l’attestation est établie conformément à l’article R. 1331-23.
