Article R1333-175 of the French Public Health Code

I.-The competent authority may, in special circumstances and by a reasoned decision, ask the person responsible for a nuclear activity to have the verifications provided for in this article carried out in advance by the Institute for Radiological Protection and Nuclear Safety or by an approved body referred to in Article R. 1333-172. This authority sets the time limit within which the Institute for Radiological Protection and Nuclear Safety or the body must be notified.

II – The person responsible for the nuclear activity must prove that he has referred the matter to the Institute for Radiological Protection and Nuclear Safety or the approved body within the time limit set. It shall immediately forward the results of the verifications carried out to the competent authority.

I.-L’autorité compétente peut demander par décision motivée, dans des circonstances particulières, au responsable d’une activité nucléaire de faire procéder par anticipation, par l’Institut de radioprotection et de sûreté nucléaire ou par un organisme agréé mentionné à l’article R. 1333-172, aux vérifications prévues à cet article. Cette autorité fixe le délai dans lequel l’Institut de radioprotection et de sûreté nucléaire ou l’organisme est saisi.

II.-Le responsable de l’activité nucléaire établit qu’il a saisi l’Institut de radioprotection et de sûreté nucléaire ou l’organisme agréé dans le délai qui lui a été fixé. Il transmet sans délai les résultats des vérifications réalisées à l’autorité compétente.
