Article R1333-91 of the French Public Health Code

I.-The representative of the State in the département manages the situations referred to in article R. 1333-90 on the basis of the data provided by the person responsible for the nuclear activity and the assessment resources made available to him by the relevant ministerial departments, the bodies under their supervision, at both local and national level, and by the safety authorities.

The latter provide it with opinions and information, in particular concerning the characterisation of the radioactive pollution, the resulting potential exposure to ionising radiation for the people concerned, any changes in the situation and proposals for managing the situation.

Exposure to ionising radiation is assessed in accordance with the procedures defined by articles R. 1333-23 and R. 1333-24.

II – The representative of the State in the département sets up a system to inform and support the population affected by these situations.

III -The representative of the State in the department shall, if necessary, make the necessary contacts with the authorities of border States.

Article R1333-91

I.-Le représentant de l’Etat dans le département gère les situations mentionnées à l’article R. 1333-90 en s’appuyant sur les données fournies par le responsable de l’activité nucléaire et sur les moyens d’évaluation mis à sa disposition par les départements ministériels compétents, les organismes placés sous leur tutelle, tant au niveau local que national, ainsi que par les autorités de sûreté.

Ces derniers lui fournissent les avis et les informations, notamment celles concernant la caractérisation de la pollution radioactive, les expositions potentielles aux rayonnements ionisants en résultant pour les personnes concernées, les éventuelles évolutions de la situation et des propositions de gestion de la situation.

Les expositions aux rayonnements ionisants sont évaluées selon les modalités définies par les articles R. 1333-23 et R. 1333-24.

II.-Le représentant de l’Etat dans le département met en place un dispositif permettant d’informer et d’accompagner la population concernée par ces situations.

III.-Le représentant de l’Etat dans le département prend, s’il y a lieu, les contacts nécessaires avec les autorités des États frontaliers.
