Article R1333-92 of the French Public Health Code

In the event of a situation of long-term exposure to radioactive substances resulting from a radiological emergency, the representative of the State in the département, after obtaining the opinion of the Nuclear Safety Authority and the Regional Health Agency, defines a strategy for the management of contaminated areas, for the protection of people and the environment, based on the application of the optimisation principle defined in 2° of Article L. 1333-2 and taking into account the reference level defined in Article R. 1333-93.

Dans le cas d’une situation d’exposition durable à des substances radioactives résultant d’une situation d’urgence radiologique, le représentant de l’Etat dans le département, après avis de l’Autorité de sûreté nucléaire et de l’Agence régionale de santé, définit, pour la gestion de territoires contaminés, une stratégie de protection des personnes et de l’environnement fondée sur l’application du principe d’optimisation défini au 2° de l’article L. 1333-2 et tenant compte du niveau de référence défini à l’article R. 1333-93.
