Article R1335-11 of the French Public Health Code

Human anatomical parts intended for abandonment must be cremated. Cremation takes place in a crematorium authorised in accordance with article L. 2223-40 of the General Local Authorities Code and whose manager holds the authorisation provided for in article L. 2223-41 of this Code. The provisions of articles R. 2213-34 to R. 2213-39 of the General Local Authorities Code do not apply to them. Cremation takes place outside the crematorium’s public opening hours. Ashes resulting from the cremation of anatomical parts of human origin may be collected and processed by municipalities and groups of municipalities under the conditions defined in article L. 2224-14 of the General Local Authorities Code.

Les pièces anatomiques d’origine humaine destinées à l’abandon doivent être incinérées. L’incinération a lieu dans un crématorium autorisé conformément à l’article L. 2223-40 du code général des collectivités territoriales et dont le gestionnaire est titulaire de l’habilitation prévue à l’article L. 2223-41 de ce code. Les dispositions des articles R. 2213-34 à R. 2213-39 du code général des collectivités territoriales ne leur sont pas applicables. L’incinération est effectuée en dehors des heures d’ouverture du crématorium au public. Les cendres issues de l’incinération des pièces anatomiques d’origine humaine peuvent être collectées et traitées par les communes et les groupements de communes dans les conditions définies à l’article L. 2224-14 du code général des collectivités territoriales.
