Article R135-4 of the French Intellectual Property Code

Proof of the rights provided for in article L. 135-6 is submitted by registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt or by electronic means with acknowledgement of receipt.

In support of his or her request, the author must produce a copy of an identity document and a declaration on his or her honour attesting to his or her status. Any successors in title must also provide a deed of notoriety attesting to their status. In addition to a copy of an identity document, the other right holders produce any document likely to justify their rights.

La justification des droits prévue à l’article L. 135-6 est présentée par lettre recommandée avec demande d’avis de réception ou par voie électronique avec demande d’accusé de réception.


A l’appui de sa demande, l’auteur produit la copie d’une pièce d’identité et une déclaration sur l’honneur attestant sa qualité. Ses éventuels ayants droit adressent en outre un acte de notoriété attestant leur qualité. Les autres titulaires de droits produisent, outre la copie d’une pièce d’identité, tout document de nature à justifier de leurs droits.
