Article R1413-86 of the French Public Health Code

In each region, for the implementation of the health policy guidelines defined in article L. 1411-1 contributing to the prevention of antibiotic resistance with regard to the proper use of antibiotics, a regional antibiotic therapy centre carries out the following tasks:

1° Providing expertise and support to healthcare professionals, wherever and however they practise, for actions promoting the correct use of antibiotics and the prevention of antibiotic resistance as well as, depending on epidemiological developments, the correct use of antifungal and antiviral treatments and the prevention of resistance to these treatments;

2° Coordinating and leading networks of healthcare professionals responsible for implementing programmes promoting the correct use of antibiotics.

The centre is a member of the regional vigilance and support network mentioned in article R. 1413-62. It participates in the work of this network.

Dans chaque région, pour la mise en œuvre des orientations de la politique de santé définie à l’article L. 1411-1 concourant à la prévention de l’antibiorésistance en matière de bon usage des antibiotiques, un centre régional en antibiothérapie assure les missions suivantes :

1° L’expertise et l’appui aux professionnels de santé, quels que soient leurs lieux et modes d’exercice, pour les actions promouvant le bon usage des antibiotiques et la prévention de la résistance aux antibiotiques ainsi que, en fonction des évolutions épidémiologiques, le bon usage des traitements antifongiques et des antiviraux et la prévention de la résistance à ces traitements ;

2° La coordination et l’animation de réseaux de professionnels de santé en charge de la mise en œuvre des programmes promouvant le bon usage des antibiotiques.

Le centre est membre du réseau régional de vigilances et d’appui mentionné à l’article R. 1413-62. Il participe aux travaux de ce réseau.
