The Conseil départemental de l’environnement et des risques sanitaires et technologiques (Departmental Council for the Environment and Health and Technological Risks) contributes to the development, implementation and monitoring, in the department, of public policies in the fields of environmental protection, sustainable management of natural resources and the prevention of health and technological risks. It is governed by the provisions of articles 8 and 9 of decree no. 2006-665 of 7 June 2006.
It exercises the powers set out in article L. 1416-1 and is also responsible for issuing an opinion, in the cases and according to the procedures provided for by the legislative and regulatory provisions in force, on draft regulatory and individual acts relating to classified installations, waste, protection of air quality and the atmosphere, water and aquatic environment policing, special administrative policing relating to water, water intended for human consumption and natural mineral water, swimming pools and bathing areas, health risks relating to housing and mosquito control.
It may examine any public health issue relating to the environment and may be involved in any action plan or programme within its remit.
