Article R15-20 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

The categories of active services of the national police force within which officers and agents of the judicial police perform their usual duties and whose jurisdiction is exercised within the jurisdiction of an overseas department or collectivity and in New Caledonia are as follows:

1° The departmental public security directorates, departmental sureties and public security divisions;

2° In respect of the border police:

a) The departmental directorates and, subject to the provisions of a of 2° of l’article R. 15-19, the railway brigades, the mobile search brigades and the removal units attached to them, in the department where they have their headquarters;

b) The border police service of Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon;

3° The territorial directorates of the national police force and their territorial judicial police services.

Article R15-20

Les catégories de services actifs de la police nationale au sein desquels les officiers et agents de police judiciaire exercent leurs fonctions habituelles et dont la compétence s’exerce dans le ressort d’un département ou d’une collectivité d’outre-mer ainsi qu’en Nouvelle-Calédonie sont les suivantes :

1° Les directions départementales de la sécurité publique, les sûretés départementales et les circonscriptions de sécurité publique ;

2° Au titre de la police aux frontières :

a) Les directions départementales ainsi que, sous réserve des dispositions du a du 2° de l’article R. 15-19, les brigades des chemins de fer, les brigades mobiles de recherche et les unités d’éloignement qui leur sont rattachées, dans le département où elles ont leur siège ;

b) Le service de la police aux frontières de Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon ;

3° Les directions territoriales de la police nationale ainsi que leurs services territoriaux de police judiciaire.
