Article R211-51 of the French Cinema and Moving Image Code

The Minister responsible for culture may, after consulting the chairman of the classification committee, authorise the non-commercial public showing of a work or document whose cinematographic release has been accompanied by a specific ban on showing, organised on an exceptional basis in a school or university, at the request and under the responsibility of the head of the school and after consulting the school council, under conditions that ensure the educational interest of the showing.

Le ministre chargé de la culture peut, après consultation du président de la commission de classification, autoriser la représentation publique à caractère non commercial d’une œuvre ou d’un document dont le visa d’exploitation cinématographique s’est accompagné d’une interdiction particulière de représentation, organisée à titre exceptionnel dans un établissement scolaire ou universitaire, à la demande et sous la responsabilité du chef d’établissement et après avis du conseil d’établissement, dans des conditions propres à assurer l’intérêt pédagogique de la représentation.
