Article R2141-1-1 of the French Public Health Code

A procedure may only be included on the list of biological procedures used in medically assisted procreation mentioned in Article L. 2141-1 if its implementation does not contravene the principles mentioned in Articles 16 to 16-8-1 of the Civil Code and Articles L. 2151-2 and L. 2151-3, if it is compatible with the objective mentioned in the fifth paragraph of Article L. 2141-1 and if its effectiveness, reproducibility and, in the current state of knowledge, the safety of its use for the health of the woman and that of the unborn child are sufficiently established.

Un procédé ne peut être inscrit sur la liste des procédés biologiques utilisés en assistance médicale à la procréation mentionnée à l’article L. 2141-1 que si sa mise en œuvre ne contrevient pas aux principes mentionnés aux articles 16 à 16-8-1 du code civil et aux articles L. 2151-2 et L. 2151-3, si elle est compatible avec l’objectif mentionné au cinquième alinéa de l’article L. 2141-1 et si son efficacité, sa reproductibilité et, en l’état actuel des connaissances, la sécurité de son utilisation pour la santé de la femme et celle de l’enfant à naître sont suffisamment établies.
