Article R2324-47 of the French Public Health Code

I.-The kindergartens mentioned in 2° of article R. 2324-17 take in children aged eighteen months and over with a view to promoting their socialisation and development and facilitating the transition to their integration into primary education.

For these establishments, the establishment project mentioned in article R. 2324-29 includes a presentation of the partnerships implemented with nursery or primary schools in the area in order to meet the objective set in the previous paragraph.

II.Kindergartens fall into one of the following categories, depending on the capacity provided for in the authorisation from the President of the Departmental Council or in the request for an opinion sent to him:

1° Small kindergartens : establishments with a capacity of twenty-four places or less;

2° Kindergartens: establishments with a capacity of between twenty-five and fifty-nine places;

3° Large kindergartens: establishments with a capacity of sixty places or more.

III – In kindergartens, the maximum size of the reception units referred to in article R. 2324-28 is eighty places.

I.-Les jardins d’enfants mentionnés au 2° de l’article R. 2324-17 accueillent des enfants âgés de dix-huit mois et plus en vue de promouvoir leur socialisation et leur épanouissement ainsi que de faciliter la transition vers leur intégration dans l’enseignement du premier degré.

Pour ces établissements, le projet d’établissement mentionné à l’article R. 2324-29 comporte une présentation des partenariats mis en œuvre avec les écoles maternelles ou primaires du territoire afin de répondre à l’objectif fixé au précédent alinéa.

II.-Les jardins d’enfants relèvent de l’une des catégories suivantes, selon la capacité d’accueil prévue par l’autorisation du président du conseil départemental ou figurant dans la demande d’avis qui lui a été adressée :

1° Les petits jardins d’enfants : établissements d’une capacité inférieure ou égale à vingt-quatre places ;

2° Les jardins d’enfants : établissements d’une capacité d’accueil comprise entre vingt-cinq et cinquante-neuf places ;

3° Les grands jardins d’enfants : établissements d’une capacité d’accueil supérieure ou égale à soixante places.

III.-Dans les jardins d’enfants, la taille maximale des unités d’accueil visées à l’article R. 2324-28 est de quatre-vingts places.
