Article R233-3 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

European Union citizens who have entered France to look for work may not be expelled on the grounds that their residence is irregular as long as they are able to provide proof that they are continuing to look for work and that they have a real chance of being hired.
