Article R3211-11 of the French Public Health Code

As soon as the application is received, the clerk’s office registers it and sends it :

1° To the person who is the subject of psychiatric care, unless he or she is the author of the request, and, if applicable, to the person responsible for a legal protection measure relating to the person or, if he or she is a minor, to his or her legal representatives ;

2° To the public prosecutor ;

3° To the director of the establishment, unless he himself has forwarded or drawn it up, on condition that he gives a copy to the person concerned when he is hospitalised in his establishment;

4° Where applicable, to the third party who requested the admission for psychiatric care or to the Prefect who ordered or maintained the care measure.

Dès réception de la requête, le greffe l’enregistre et la communique :

1° A la personne qui fait l’objet de soins psychiatriques, à moins qu’elle soit l’auteur de la requête, et, s’il y a lieu, à la personne chargée à son égard d’une mesure de protection juridique relative à la personne ou, si elle est mineure, à ses représentants légaux ;

2° Au ministère public ;

3° Au directeur de l’établissement, à moins qu’il ne l’ait lui-même transmise ou établie, à charge pour lui d’en remettre une copie à la personne concernée lorsqu’elle est hospitalisée dans son établissement ;

4° Le cas échéant, au tiers qui a demandé l’admission en soins psychiatriques ou au préfet qui a ordonné ou maintenu la mesure de soins.
