I. – The general meeting elects from among its members an executive committee which comprises at least a chairman, a treasurer and a secretary, a deputy secretary, and at least, for the union grouping doctors, a vice-chairman and a deputy treasurer.
For regional unions with six or fewer members, the executive committee is made up of a president, a treasurer and a secretary.
If no executive committee is appointed three months after the start of the term of office, the general meeting elects from among its members an executive committee comprising a president, a treasurer and a secretary, a deputy secretary and, for the union representing doctors, a vice-president.
II. – Within the regional union of doctors, the executive committee comprises an equal number of members representing each college.
III. – The members of the executive committee are elected by a separate vote for each position. The election takes place by secret ballot, by an absolute majority of the votes cast in the first two rounds and by a relative majority in the third. In the event of a tie, the oldest candidate shall be declared elected.
If a member of the Executive Committee permanently ceases to hold office, he shall be replaced at the first meeting of the General Meeting following the vacancy.
In the event of serious misconduct in the performance of his duties, and after having been given the opportunity to present his defence, any member of the Executive Committee shall be automatically declared to have resigned by a two-thirds majority of the General Meeting.
