Article R423-2 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

A foreign national holding the resident card provided for in article L. 423-6 may have it withdrawn if he or she has ended his or her relationship with a French national within four years of celebrating the marriage, except in the cases mentioned in the same article.

L’étranger titulaire de la carte de résident prévue à l’article L. 423-6 peut se la voir retirer s’il a mis fin à sa vie commune avec un ressortissant français dans les quatre années qui suivent la célébration du mariage, sauf dans les cas mentionnés au même article.
