Article R432-15 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

When the holder acquires French nationality by naturalisation or reinstatement decree, the residence permit is returned to the authority that notified the decision. In other cases of acquisition, it is returned to the prefect of the department of residence.

Lorsque son titulaire acquiert la nationalité française par décret de naturalisation ou de réintégration, le titre de séjour est restitué à l’autorité qui lui a notifié la décision. Dans les autres cas d’acquisition, il est restitué au préfet du département de sa résidence.
