I.-In an establishment comprising a basic nuclear installation, the employer shall set up a radiation protection skills centre responsible for advising on radiation protection.
The following are not covered by the provisions of the first paragraph:
1° Facilities that only use sealed radioactive sources and those that include an accelerator as defined in article R. 593-3 of the Environmental Code;
2° External contractors working in the establishments mentioned in the first paragraph.
II – In the establishments mentioned in I, the employer may entrust the centre it has set up with the tasks of radiation protection advisor for other nuclear activities carried out in the same establishment.
III – The radiation protection centre of expertise may carry out the initial inspections provided for in Articles R. 4451-40 and R. 4451-44 and renew the initial inspection of work equipment provided for in Article R. 4451-41.
