Pyrotechnic installations must be designed, constructed and installed in such a way that a pyrotechnic event does not give rise to any significant risk for workers other than those who, as a result of their activity, are directly exposed to the effects of the event.
Within the site, the isolation distances between the potential sites of a pyrotechnic event and the exposed sites are such that, in the event of a pyrotechnic event, workers are only exposed to a limited risk and transmission or propagation to other pyrotechnic installations is unlikely.
An order by the ministers responsible for labour, agriculture, defence, mines, the interior, quarries and industry sets the risk assessment rules for determining the minimum isolation distances to be respected between workplaces or between installations, taking into account in particular the nature of the activities carried out and the installations.
