The first four specialised commissions formed within the Conseil d’orientation des conditions de travail are as follows:
1° A specialised commission on cross-cutting issues, those involved in prevention in companies, studies and research. In particular, it is responsible for prevention and occupational health services and occupational physicians, members of the multidisciplinary team and social and economic committees. It is responsible for promoting and disseminating a culture of prevention, training, risks relating to the organisation of work, studies, research and the work of public agencies in these areas, in particular the Agence nationale de sécurité sanitaire de l’alimentation, de l’environnement et du travail (National Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health Safety) and the Agence nationale pour l’amélioration des conditions de travail (National Agency for the Improvement of Working Conditions). It is also responsible for the tasks, organisation and operation of the Conseil d’Orientation des Conditions de Travail (Working Conditions Advisory Council) and the Comité Régional d’Orientation des Conditions de Travail (Regional Working Conditions Advisory Committees). Finally, it is responsible for cross-cutting aspects and guidelines of European and international policy;
2° A specialised committee on the prevention of physical, chemical and biological risks to health at work;
3° A specialised committee on the prevention of risks related to the design and use of work equipment, personal protective equipment and temporary workplaces and premises;
4° A specialised committee on occupational pathologies. It is responsible in particular for issues relating to knowledge of the occupational origin of diseases, occupational illnesses and the link between compensation and prevention of occupational diseases.
