The status of judicial police officer may be awarded:
– to gendarmerie non-commissioned officers who have passed the tests of a technical examination and have at least thirty months’ service from the start of their initial training, including at least six months in a post involving the exercise of the powers attached to the status of judicial police officer ;
– to civil servants in the national police management and application corps who have passed a technical examination and have at least thirty months’ service from the start of their initial training, including at least six months in a post involving the exercise of the powers attached to the status of judicial police officer.
The organisational procedures and the test programme for the technical examination provided for in the second and third paragraphs are set by joint order of the Minister of Justice and the Minister of the Interior.
