Article R512-38 of the French Monetary and Financial Code

In order to carry out the controls provided for in Article L. 511-31 and Article L. 512-72, the central body of savings banks and banques populaires shall carry out on-site investigations and obtain any documents it deems useful.

Pour l’exercice du contrôle prévu à l’article L. 511-31 et à l’article L. 512-72, l’organe central des caisses d’épargne et des banques populaires procède sur place à toutes investigations et se fait communiquer tous documents qu’elle juge utiles.
