Article R5127-17 of the French Public Health Code

If the analysis report reveals facts that could lead to criminal prosecution, it is forwarded to the public prosecutor, together with the report or record of the sample-taking and the third sample kept by the officer who took the sample.

Si le rapport d’analyses fait apparaître des faits susceptibles d’entraîner des poursuites pénales, il est transmis, accompagné du rapport ou du procès-verbal de prélèvement et du troisième échantillon conservé par l’agent ayant effectué le prélèvement, au procureur de la République.
