Fractional dispensing of a medicinal product classified as a narcotic or subject to narcotic regulations may be decided by decision of the Director General of the Agence nationale de sécurité du médicament et des produits de santé. The decision specifies the maximum duration of treatment corresponding to each fraction.
The prescriber must indicate on the prescription the duration of treatment corresponding to each fraction. However, for specific reasons relating to the patient’s situation, the prescriber may exclude fractionation by marking the prescription “single-dose dispensing”.
