Article R5132-38 of the French Public Health Code

Containers or packaging containing medicinal products covered by the narcotics regulations and not packaged for the public must bear a label of a size appropriate to their volume, affixed in such a way that it cannot be accidentally detached.

This label bears the following information in clear, indelible black lettering:

1° The name of the contents ;

2° The gross mass and tare weight corresponding to the packaging used;

3° Indication of origin: the name and address of the manufacturer, distributor or importer;

4° A skull and crossbones on an orange-yellow square background of sufficient size; this square is placed in the top left-hand corner of the label;

5° A reference number for each container or package.

For proprietary medicinal products covered by the narcotics regulations, the coloured line provided for in article R. 5132-15 is red.

Article R5132-38

Les récipients ou emballages contenant des médicaments relevant de la réglementation des stupéfiants et n’ayant pas fait l’objet d’un conditionnement destiné au public sont revêtus d’une étiquette d’un format adapté à leur volume, apposée de manière à ne pouvoir être involontairement détachée.

Cette étiquette porte de façon apparente, en caractères noirs lisibles, indélébiles, les indications suivantes :

1° La dénomination du contenu ;

2° La masse brute et la tare correspondant au conditionnement utilisé ;

3° L’indication d’origine : les nom et adresse du fabricant ou du distributeur ou de l’importateur ;

4° Une tête de mort à tibias croisés sur un fond carré de couleur orangé-jaune et de dimensions suffisantes ; ce carré est placé à l’angle supérieur gauche de l’étiquette ;

5° Un numéro de référence pour chaque récipient ou emballage.

Pour les spécialités pharmaceutiques relevant de la réglementation des stupéfiants, le filet coloré prévu à l’article R. 5132-15 est de couleur rouge.
