A breeding health programme, within the meaning of article L. 5143-6, is the definition of interventions that must be carried out systematically for prophylactic purposes on an entire herd, batch or band of animals, according to a pre-established schedule based on the pathological factors specific to each type of breeding and taking into account both the geographical conditions specific to the region and climatic and seasonal factors.
Any programme designed to control the oestral cycle of adult female domestic animals is considered to be a breeding health programme.
