Article R521-5 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

A foreign national who, not already holding a residence permit, applies for asylum pursuant to article L. 521-1 must submit the following documents in support of their application with a view to registration:
1° Details of their civil status and, where applicable, that of their spouse, civil union partner or cohabitee and their dependent children;
2° The documents mentioned in the order provided for by article R. 311-1 proving that he/she entered France legally or, failing this, any information relating to the conditions of his/her entry into France and the stages of his/her journey from his/her country of origin;
3° Two recent, perfectly resembling photographs of the face, bareheaded, measuring 3.5 cm × 4.5 cm;
4° If he/she has a stable place of residence, an indication of the address where he/she can be sent any correspondence during the period of validity of the asylum application attestation.

Article R521-5

L’étranger qui, n’étant pas déjà titulaire d’un titre de séjour, demande l’asile en application de l’article L. 521-1 doit présenter les pièces suivantes à l’appui de sa demande en vue de son enregistrement:
1° Les indications relatives à son état civil et, le cas échéant, à celui de son conjoint, de son partenaire avec lequel il est lié par une union civile ou de son concubin et de ses enfants à charge ;
2° Les documents mentionnés dans l’arrêté prévu par l’article R. 311-1 justifiant qu’il est entré régulièrement en France ou, à défaut, toutes indications portant sur les conditions de son entrée en France et les étapes de son voyage à partir de son pays d’origine ;
3° Deux photographies de face, tête nue, de format 3,5 cm × 4,5 cm, récentes et parfaitement ressemblantes ;
4° S’il dispose d’un domicile stable, l’indication de l’adresse où il est possible de lui faire parvenir toute correspondance pendant la durée de validité de l’attestation de demande d’asile.
