Article R525-2 of the French Consumer Code

The administrative authority mentioned in articles L. 525-1 and R. 525-1 is the Director General for Competition, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Control, the Head of the National Investigation Department of the Directorate General for Competition, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Control, the Regional Director for the Economy, Employment, Labour and Solidarity or the Director of the Departmental Directorate for the Protection of Populations.

The Director General for Competition, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Control, the Head of the National Investigation Department of the Directorate General for Competition, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Control, the Regional Director for the Economy, Employment, Labour and Solidarity or the Director of the Departmental Directorate for the Protection of Populations.
The Director General of Competition, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Control and the Head of the National Investigation Department may designate category A civil servants or contractual agents with duties of an equivalent level to represent them before the civil and criminal courts of first instance and appeal.

The Directors of the decentralised departments may designate category A civil servants to represent them before the same courts.

L’autorité administrative mentionnée aux articles L. 525-1 et R. 525-1 est le directeur général de la concurrence, de la consommation et de la répression des fraudes, le chef du service national des enquêtes de la direction générale de la concurrence, de la consommation et de la répression des fraudes, le directeur régional de l’économie, de l’emploi, du travail et des solidarités ou le directeur de la direction départementale chargée de la protection des populations.


Le directeur général de la concurrence, de la consommation et de la répression des fraudes et le chef du service national des enquêtes peuvent désigner des fonctionnaires de catégorie A ou des agents contractuels chargés de fonctions d’un niveau équivalent afin de les représenter devant les juridictions civiles et pénales de première instance et d’appel.

Les directeurs des services déconcentrés peuvent désigner des fonctionnaires de catégorie A afin de les représenter devant les mêmes juridictions.
