Article R53-8-11 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

In the cases provided for by 4° of Article 706-53-2, the magistrate or court making the decision shall inform the person concerned and notify them of their obligations either orally or by registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt. Failing this, notification is made by the public prosecutor in accordance with the procedures described in the third paragraph of Article R. 53-8-9. The document provided for in the penultimate paragraph of article R. 53-8-9 is given or sent to the interested party.

Dans les cas prévus par le 4° de l’article 706-53-2, le magistrat ou la juridiction qui rend la décision informe l’intéressé et lui notifie ses obligations soit oralement soit par lettre recommandée avec accusé de réception. A défaut, la notification est faite par le procureur de la République selon les modalités décrites au troisième alinéa de l’article R. 53-8-9. Le document prévu à l’avant-dernier alinéa de l’article R. 53-8-9 est remis ou adressé à l’intéressé.
