The Director General of the Office français de protection des réfugiés et apatrides (French Office for the Protection of Refugees and Stateless Persons) will decide on the list of associations authorised to propose representatives to accompany the applicant to the personal interview, pursuant to article L. 531-15.
Authorisation may only be requested by associations that have been duly registered for at least five years. The association must enclose a copy of its articles of association with its application for authorisation. Reasons must be given for any refusal of authorisation. Authorisation is granted for a period of three years and is renewable, on request, for the same period.
The Director General of the Office may, at any time, by reasoned decision, withdraw an association’s authorisation.
The authorised association notifies the Director General of the Office of the list of its representatives accompanying asylum seekers to the interview. Unless a refusal is made within two months of notification, these representatives are deemed to be approved for a period of three years. The Director General of the Office may, at any time, by reasoned decision, withdraw the approval issued to a representative of an association.
The approval of a representative of an association is withdrawn at the association’s request or when the association’s authorisation is withdrawn or has expired.
