Article R613-6 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

A foreign national who is notified of a ban on returning to French territory is informed of the enforceability of this decision and that the period during which he or she is banned from returning to the territory begins to run on the date on which he or she complies with his or her obligation to leave French territory.

Article R613-6

L’étranger auquel est notifiée une interdiction de retour sur le territoire français est informé du caractère exécutoire de cette décision et de ce que la durée pendant laquelle il lui est interdit de revenir sur le territoire commence à courir à la date à laquelle il satisfait à son obligation de quitter le territoire français.
Il est également informé des conditions d’exécution de la décision portant obligation de quitter le territoire français mentionnées à l’article R. 711-1, ainsi que des conditions dans lesquelles il peut justifier de sa sortie du territoire français conformément aux dispositions de l’article R. 711-2.
