Assistants participate in continuity of care or pharmaceutical duty in conjunction with other members of the medical profession or other pharmacists in the establishment.
In this capacity, they provide in particular:
1° In the structures organised on a continuous basis, day and night work under the conditions defined by the internal regulations and the duty roster;
2° In other structures, daily morning and afternoon work; in addition, they participate in the continuity of care or pharmaceutical duty organised either on site or on call at home.
However, if the interests of the service so require, and after obtaining the opinion of the chairman of the establishment’s medical committee, the director of the establishment may decide to suspend the participation of a hospital assistant in continuity of care or pharmaceutical duty at night, on Saturday afternoons, Sundays and public holidays for a period of three months. He shall immediately inform the Director General of the Regional Health Agency. If, at the end of this period, the assistant is not authorised again to participate in continuity of care or pharmaceutical duty, his situation will be examined either under the provisions of articles R. 6152-521 to R. 6152-524, or under those of sub-section 5 of this section.
